(Crossposted on the Rott.)
Okay, so I’m enjoying a brief respite from my hectic schedule as a PC repair-type guy when a ticket comes in:
Client states that her local printer will not power on. Client states that the printer was working fine on Tuesday. She states that she has tried plugging the printer into another location but this has not worked. Please ensure that the printer is connected properly.
So, after lunch, I drive to the location.  Find the customer.
“Aw, man, no, this printer will not work at all  and I’ve tried everything and can you pleeeeeeeeze fix it…”
Ad infinitum, ad-friggin’-nauseam.
Start at the back of the printer.  Connected.  Trace the cord down to the AC power brick.  It’s not connected to the power cord.  Connect it.
Start pulling the power cord.  It’s not hooked into the wall.  Plug it in.  Printer comes on immediately.
Customer’s jaw hits the floor.  And with a straight face (and I swear to Cthulu, this is the hardest part), I say “thank you” and walk out the door back to my car.
And for this, I get paid about $45K annually.
Today’s a day we commemorate liberation from the Crown over 230 years ago.
But there’s a different type of liberation I’m going to reference today, one that has farther-reaching remifications – to at least one person, anyway.
One of the leading spokesmen of the heterophobe movement, Michael Glatze, has renounced homosexuality – and, apparently, turned to God.
Toward the end of his time with Young Gay America, Glatze said, colleagues began to notice he was going through some kind of religious experience.
Just before leaving, not fully realizing what he was doing, he wrote on his office computer his thoughts, ending with the declaration: “Homosexuality is death, and I choose life.”
“I was so nervous, it was like I wasn’t even writing it myself,” he said.
Inexplicably, he told WND, he left the words on the screen for others to see.
“People who looked at it were stunned; they thought it was crazy,” he said.
In his column [found here – LSI], Glatze doesn’t mince words, calling homosexual sex purely “lust-based,” meaning it can never fully satisfy.
“It’s a neurotic process rather than a natural, normal one,” he writes. “Normal is normal – and has been called normal for a reason.”
Precisely, Michael.  And you can once again call yourself “normal” – because you’ve been liberated.
As Scripture says, “you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
Praise the Lord.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!
Yowzah.  She’s got my  vote…
LA REINA ESPÁTULA (with iron skillet):  KA-BONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
…uh, ow.
Denizens, your homework assignment for today is to go read a little E.A. Poe Misha.
Spew warnings in effect.
Go.  Shoo.
Or of the decade.  Or the century.  Aw Hell™ – why not the millenium?
In a discussion about John-John “Silky Pony” Edwards on the Rott, Denizen JonB has ab-so-fuckin’-lutely nailed  it.  To the fuckin’ wall, even.
Behold [ED. NOTE:  Jon, I cleaned it up just a little. Hope you don’t mind.]:
I’m a little lost here. Silky boy and his wife came out a while back and claimed that she has cancer.
On a number of Conservative blogs I saw all sorts of “well she may be a liberal but I wouldn’t wish that on anyone” and blah blah blah. When Ann Coulter took a shot at Edwards’ masculinity (he has some?), more conservatives had their head implode like a liberal that just found out they lost a case against a manger display at a church.
Why do we keep acting so pious and “better” than the liberals?
If we *are* better people, then we simply are. We are not bound by the rules that the liberals expect us to play by. This is how playground bullies work. They taunt and taunt and taunt people because they know their targets won’t react because they “don’t want to stoop to that level”
You know what? Fuck that. We need to harden are soft ass skins and start playing hardball. Let the liberals scream and whine and cry and bitch and wet themselves, but it’s time to stop being the timid “do unto others” types. We’ve sat around too long with this attitude, and the state of the country is where we have let it go.
I’m along the lines with Ann. Silky boys wife has cancer? good. Hope it takes it’s time.
It’s sickening that so many conservatives will sit around and make “awww it’s okay” statements about someone who is in full support of a man who would rape this country of her freedom and all that she has to offer. It’s a damn close shave to the “giving aid and *comfort* to the enemy” in my opinion. Every liberal opponent that dies is one less voice in the lunacy of the nation. One less mouth that will demand free food paid for by the “evil rich conservatives”. One less pack of lies, deception, and outright evil.
We need to understand who our enemy is. Yes, Bin Laden is one serious enemy (if only in legacy and name. No idea if the pig is still alive), but the likes of Edwards, Kennedy, Clinton/Rodham/name-du jour, Kerry, Gore, and others are just as dangerous to our lives and our country.
Remember: The only difference between a liberal and a terrorist, is a terrorist values his cause more than his life.
Which do we value most? Our freedom, our lives? Or our “not stooping to their level”?
Bra-friggin’-vo, my friend.
