… is there really a problem here.
When I read this article, I had to start scratching the ol’ noggin’.
Seeing that it’s likely the “change” would occur during the Manchurian Muslim’s watch, I’m like “Some change. More American jobs lost. Thanks a trillion, Al Obambi”
Being former USAF myself, I’m also a taaaaad bit concerned that the US military is going to consider going outside our shores for such a critical piece of hardware. Not to mention the ripple effect that this decision could have on American manufacturers that support our men and women in the military.

I hardly consider Air Force One a ‘critical piece of hardware’. Technically, Air Force One doesn’t even really exist as any one plane, since it’s technically the designation of any fixed-wing aircraft the president happens to be on.
As to going overseas for the replacement…if the Air Farce wants to waste its money on an Airbus, not really anything we can do to stop them. The reason Boeing aircraft cost so much more is that they’re that much better than any aircraft anyone else is selling. Except for Saab. But, it’s really practical to cart the president around in a two-seat fighter.
*grumble*
The last sentence *should* read “But, it’s NOT really practical to…”
One of these days, I’ll learn what ‘proffredding’ means.
A correction if I may.
The call sigh Air Force One is given to any USAF aircraft upon which the President happens to be riding. If the President happens to be riding in a USAF Cessna 172 (T41 I believe) that aircraft has the call sign Air Force One.
As to the wisdom of replacing the VC25s with Airbuses, I believe that it would be a mistake. There is much to be said for using your own products, and Boeing is still an American product.
