US stocks fell sharply Tuesday in a broad-based decline as the government announced details of its latest bailout plan.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down nearly 300 points after Treasury Secretary Tim Geither revealed details of the bank-bailout plan. Earlier, the blue-chip index was down less than 100 points.
They’re right.
UPDATE:  382 points down at day’s end.

No, the number “535” is correct.
You hang with the crows, you die with the crows. If the ‘Nay’ votes didn’t steal our money on *this* vote, they tried on other votes. There isn’t a politician alive who won’t try to steal someone’s money to buy the vote of someone else.
It’s about time we all just wake up and admit that ALL of our politicians are thieves. We’re all just arguing about which thieves we like better. It’s about the same as arguing over which you’d rather have: Dengue fever (also called ‘bonebreak fever’), or Hemorrhagic fever. Either way, you’re fast on your way to becoming dead.
