When last we left Our Intrepid Hero™, he had just received a tongue keyboard-lashing by Dan Riehl for having the chutzpah  to question him.
K’HADIBAK’H:  You were properly chagrined, no doubt.
VENOMOUS:  No doubt.
MERLIN:  You didn’t issue him a CSITMF challenge, did you…?
VENOMOUS:  Of course not.  For now, Riehl is a compatriot, a fellow conservative.  We don’t wish to battle those on our side.
OZY MCCOOL:  You did that with Rusty Shackelford once.
T-BONE MCMANX:  Not to mention Bill Quick.
VENOMOUS:  Grrrrrrr.
ALL:  …
Anyway, I tried posting a response in the thread.  It hit his system & went splash.
MERLIN:  He moderated  you?!
KORRIOTH:  The barbarian!!!
VENOMOUS:  Oh, pipe down.
ALL:
VENOMOUS:  Besides, it’s not the first time he’s done something like this.
Comments closed, as I’m tired of reading some of you idiots carry on when you don’t have a freaking clue what you’re babbling about.
MERLIN:  What are you always saying, though?  “His blog, his rules”?
VENOMOUS:  Absolutely.  But I’m trying to get through this post here, so if you don’t mind…?
MERLIN:  …
Anyway…
BS, I never did. Do you even read what i write, DV? I’ve said repeatedly, whehter she went to CPAC, or not, is immaterial. I don’t even care. If you won’t take me at my word, then I’m not going to debate you.
Oh, but I am  taking you at your word, Dan.  In fact, in the post where you closed comments, you’d previously said…
Well, now that the disconnect exists, deal with it. We didn’t create the issue, so don’t look for us to solve it. And that Palin would diss CPAC, quite apart from David Keene, in the process, was the final straw for some of us. If she doesn’t have our backs, as we, not David Keene, are what CPAC is all about, then she can take her Fox News audience and do whatever the hell she wants with it. She hasn’t made it appear as those she has the genuine interests of grassroots conservatives at the top of her agenda in any of this.
That doesn’t sound a helluva lot like “immaterial” to me.
And if she wants to dump on Keene, I think she’s wrong, but she can do it. But don’t conflate CPAC with Keene. That’s a superficial understanding of the event and an insult to attendees.
I wouldn’t be so sure that CPAC isn’t about David Keene if I were you.  CPAC is a function of the ACU, is it not?  I mean, go to their web site and at the bottom of the page you find:
© 2009 The American Conservative Union. | .1007 Cameron Street. | .Alexandria, VA 22314
CPAC Phone: (800) 7524391. | .Email: cpac@conservative.org
And Keene has been ACU president for what, now? 25, 26 years?  Sure sounds as if this is at least partly  about him, anyway.
And, given that CPAC is ACU is David Keene, I’m with the Sarahcuda on this.  Our values and ideals are not for sale to the highest bidder.  (At least, they’re not supposed  to be.)  David Keene has made it look as if they are.
I’ve also NEVER said Palin has no right to make money.
Not outright, no.  But I’d still add (as a corollary):  The hell you haven’t.
I’m hearing through sources Sarah Palin is getting $75k to speak at this Tea Party convention. Can anyone confirm that officially? That’s a lot of damned tea.
Sounds to me like a criticism.  Almost as if you didn’t think she had a right to ask for any kind of a speaking fee at all.
If you are unable to comprehend that I would criticize any politician for charging 100k for a TP event, and I’d likely criticize a Limbaugh, or Levin for it, too –
Except Limbaugh & Levin aren’t politicians.  And neither – at least, not currently, anyway – is Sarah Palin.  She is a Fox News analyst and an author.  Not to mention a pretty decent huntress/fisherwoman (if the O’Reilly interview the other night on Fox is any indication).  While she may be a former  politician – and while she may, at some point, re-enter the political arena – she is for the moment  a private citizen.
So tell me, Dan – what the hell right do you have to question what a private citizen makes?
then you have no understanding of my positions. And I have re-stated them often enough.
About all I’ve been able to figure out from a cursory reading of your ramblings is that:  1) you think any criticism of David Keene in re: pay-for-play is “unfair”, 2) you don’t think Sarah Palin has a right to a speaking fee (and, quite honestly, Dan – whether or not the Tea Party convention can pay her isn’t really any of your business, either), and 3) you hate Glenn Beck.
Do I have that about right?
I’m done debating straw men with you, Darth. Think what you want.
Thanks, Dan, I will.  Glad to know I have your permission to.  Mighty white of you.
What I think  is that you’re starting to sound and act just a small bit like Excitable Chucky over at LGF.  You’ve got a damnably thin skin on a couple of things.  Not that you don’t have that right, nor the right to act on it – but it’s reminiscent of how Chuckles began his notorious slide into oblivion.  He started in on people who weren’t deserving – the criticism of Christianity, etc…then the banishments, and the removal of comments.  Until finally, he’s been delinked so often that Truth Laid Bear is spinning in his cave.
You’re a good blogger, and an enjoyable read.  But so used to be Herr Johnson.  I’d hate to see what happened to him happen to you.
