This is for you college football fans.

It seems that there is nothing that Papa Obama will not insert himself into.

A blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then. The BCS is a joke, and a travesty. It should be investigated as being possibly criminal.

The laws are stupid, but, if they’re there, they should be enforced.

The problem is that we have a whole slew of stupid, or bad laws. If a law is “stupid” or “bad”, instead of enforcing it, the law should be repealed.

The very idea that the Federal Government believes it has any right at all to interfere in college sports is a perfect illustration of what is wrong with our country.

Personally, I would be in favor of outlawing all publicizing and broadcasting of college athletics. I believe that the current state of college athletics makes a mockery of the idea that the players are either students or amateurs. That doesn’t mean, however, that I want the feds involved. Instead, I want the feds just as far from the issue as is possible.

Ah, but, the NCAA is already a Federal agency, since it was formed by the orders of President Theodore Roosevelt. So, the cat is already out of the bag.

I wholeheartedly agree that the Federal government has no business interfering in what state universities do. BUT, since the NCAA is already formed, and the Federal government already interfered, it stands to reason that the Federal government should intervene is what is, ultimately, their own boondoggle.

Completing dismantling the NCAA, and the BCS, is an idea I’m quite fond of. The NCAA is needless interference in athletics, and the BCS is an attempt by several powerful athletic conferences to funnel money to themselves at the expense of the other conferences. Both of them are idiotic. BUT, since the idiotic rules are already in place, the government should enforce the idiotic rules they put in place. Otherwise, we’re in a state of near-anarchy.

Either abolish the rules, or enforce them. The middle ground is injustice.

It helps, though, if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer  set about 1024x768 1280x1024 with your Favorites window activated on the left deactivated.  (At least until I can get a better handle on how WordPress works.)

(KORRIOTH:  Oh, great.  More wormholes.)

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice.
You can  use Nutscrape,  if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?

And don't even  get me started on Opera or Chrome.  I'm not about  to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
