(Hat tip NewsBusters.)

Guess you’ve seen by now where racist eugenics evolutionary shit-for-brains professor shit-for-brains Satoshi Kanazawa has all but decreed that we conservatives and/or Christians ain’t too ed-yoo-ma-ka-ted.

Political, religious and sexual behaviors may be reflections of intelligence, a new study finds.

Evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa at the the London School of Economics and Political Science correlated data on these behaviors with IQ from a large national U.S. sample and found that, on average, people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs. This applied also to sexual exclusivity in men, but not in women. The findings will be published in the March 2010 issue of Social Psychology Quarterly.

There is but one thing – and only one thing, if you ask me – that can be viewed as a proper response to an asshat like this.

“Romans 1:22”.

And thank you, Sack-o-shit Kwanzaanawa, but I’ll take the Apostle Paul’s intellect – not to mention He who gave to him – over your&#160 fecal-material-between-the-ears any day of the week.

‘Nuff.&#160 Said.

  1. David Hartung says:

What the article does not say, is that even though this “research” shows liberals to have higher IQs than conservatives, the IQs of both groups are in about the middle of the normal range.

The terms “liberal” and “conservative” are so general as to be useless in a scientific sense. For this research to have any validity at all, we would have to see hoe the researchers defined the terms.

  2. Alan K. Henderson says:

Ilya Somin of the Volokh Conspiracy answers David’s question:

Kanazawa uses a highly idisoyncratic definition of liberalism: “genuine concern for the welfare of genetically unrelated others and the willingness to contribute larger proportions of private resources for the welfare of such others.” This definition doesn’t distinguish liberalism from conservatism or libertarianism. It distinguishes universalism from particularism. For example, a libertarian who believes that free market policies best promote the welfare of “genetically unrelated others” and contributes a great deal of his money to charities promoting libertarian causes counts as a liberal under this definition. The same goes for a Religious Right conservative who believes that everyone will be better off under socially conservative policies and contributes lots of money to church charities. In fact, recent research by Arthur Brooks shows that conservatives and other opponents of government redistribution give more, on average, to charity than other members of the population.

But wait, there’s more! Kanazawa’s data contradicts his theory:

When Kanazawa actually correlates measures of intelligence with views of particular issues, he finds that, controlling for various other variables, more intelligent General Social Survey (GSS) respondents are less likely to support government-mandated efforts to ” reduce the differences in income between people with high incomes and those with low incomes.” This is hardly consistent with claims that the more intelligent are more politically liberal in the conventional sense of the term.

  3. Alan K. Henderson says:

Oh, let’s not call Kanazawa racist. He’s a political moonbat. Different thing.

  4. Actually, Alan, it wasn’t me that called Kwanzaajawatakahashi racist, but one of NewsBusters’ own commenters.&#160 Oh, and Wiki, too:

Second is what CNN didn’t tell you about Satoshi Kanazawa: he’s a lunatic and highly racist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoshi_Kanazawa

  5. Alan K. Henderson says:

The “Controversy over Race and Intelligence” section in the Wikipedia article requires much study.

“Kanazawa has argued that Asian cultural traditions and/or character inhibit Asian scientific creativity.” Culture (character is a part of culture) DOES impact scientific creativity and other human endeavors. Kanazawa’s claim is the opposite of the American stereotype of Asians, however.

“‘political correctness’ is a bigger threat to American evolutionary psychology than religious fundamentalism.” Unfortunately, Kanazawa’s claim is not available online – only U. of New Mexico prof Geoffrey Miller’s response (footnote 12). Miller is worried about a Religious Right that too often (in his view) votes for politicians who stand in the way of scientist. He chides Kanazawa for worrying more about “the baleful influence of post-modernists, gender feminists, and Marxists.” Kanazawa sounds like the kind of guy who’s spot-on about PC, despite being wrong on other issues.

“In 2006 Kanazawa published a controversial paper suggesting that poor health of people in some nations is the result, not of poverty, but rather lower IQ.” I think he’s got cause and effect scrambled. Political tyranny is the primary cause of grinding poverty – of the impoverished nations, there is a strong correlation between per-capita Gross Domestic Product and Index of Economic Freedom score. I believe that IQ is to some degree something that can be developed, and that grinding poverty is a barrier to this.

He also endorsed Ann Coulter for the presidency:

“Here’s a little thought experiment. Imagine that, on September 11, 2001, when the Twin Towers came down, the President of the United States was not George W. Bush, but Ann Coulter. What would have happened then? On September 12, President Coulter would have ordered the US military forces to drop 35 nuclear bombs throughout the Middle East, killing all of our actual and potential enemy combatants, and their wives and children. On September 13, the war would have been over and won, without a single American life lost.

“Yes, we need a woman in the White House, but not the one who’s running [Hillary].”

    http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-scientific-fundamentalist/200803/why-we-are-losing-war

I’m not sure if the Japanese psychologist is really suggesting the US literally go nuclear (note the irony), but at the very least he’s pointing out that we’ve been overcautious, and thus dragging out the war too long.

Like I said, he’s got a flawed definition for “liberal” and “conservative,” although he seems to be right about Political Correctness. The “racist” charge seems flimsy. He seems to be a mixed bag.
