The Vicar has been told that on Sunday evening he may not watch his TV shows. It seems that his better half has this irrational addiction to some sort of game in which 22 guys fight over a pigskin bladder. Apparently something called the NFL Pre-season begins this week.
I ask you what is more important, watching a bunch of guys fight over a ball, or watching some “real men”(and one woman) wrestle big rigs up the Dalton to Prudhoe Bay?

And don't even get me started on Opera or Chrome. I'm not about to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.

Darth, that goes without saying. The really awesome thing, all football humor aside, is that the 29th of this month, she will have officially put up with me for 30 years.
My lovely bride is an awesome woman, who has been wonderful to me and my kids. For that I will accept this unreasonable and irrational love of football.
Vicar, there’s these things called “DVRs”. With that your bride can watch all the Sunday night foo-ball she wants and you’ll still get to see Alex, Hugh, Jesse, Lisa and company try and handle the big rigs on the Dalton.
Just sayin’ is all.
BTW, the Generalette and I DVR IRT every Sunday now for three seasons and we’re looking forward to IRT: Himalayas this fall.
One of the characteristics of the ministry is that much of the life of the parish happens in the evening. We discovered DVR when we moved to Starkville, which means that I no longer have to miss anything.
Maybe 21st century Americans are a bit spoiled? 🙂
