Their readership keeps declining, ratings are spiraling downward, their credibility has more holes in it than a block of Swiss cheese, and yet they still&#160 insist on verbally shooting themselves in the foot.

Ladies and gentlemen, your&#160 American Lame Stream Media&#153.

This time, it’s the Washington Pissed Post and their dumb-assed excuse-for-a-managing editor, Philip Bennett, in an interview with the Chinese rag People’s Daily.

Yong Tang: According to the opinion polls, the image of America has been becoming less and less popular in the world today since after the Iraq war.

Perhaps, Poon Tang, you might try asking the people of Afghanistan and the purple-fingered folks in Iraq just what their&#160 image of America is, instead of asking Gear-head Schroeder and *spit* Jacques-ass ChIRAQ *spit* and their Useless Nitwit butt-buddy minions who’ve been ripping off the American taxpayer with the Oil-for-KickbacksFood program.

We find it really odd how a country’s regard for us is directly proportional to either how we benefit them or they’re able to temporarily scam us.&#160 Amazing how, once we discover their treachery, their respect for us goes down a helluva lot.

As a top leader of a major American newspaper, how do you think of this growing anti-American sentiment?

Bennett: The world image of US is so clearly linked to its foreign policy and particularly its policy toward Iraq and Middle East, say its support of Israel and its occupation of Iraq.

I was in China once shortly after the missile hit the Chinese embassy in Belgrade and of course there were demonstrations in Beijing before the US embassy and elsewhere. So I think it is easy to understand in many ways why the US image has decreased.

Not that we care, Bennett, you moron.&#160 We’re going to continue supporting Israel and we’ll be in Iraq until the job is done.&#160 If that doesn’t set well with you and your honeyboys in Communist China, then feel free to take that as your cordial invitation to bite us.

(Y’all did&#160 remember that they’re still Communist, right?&#160 Or did the fact that the leftist Post sat down with them shock that back into your memory?)

Another source of the resentment is the perception that Bush administration wants to act unilaterally in the world, outside of alliance that traditionally governed the ways Bush made foreign policy decisions.

Oh yeah, here we go – the “unilateral” meme again.&#160 Lessee…Britain, Japan, Israel, Italy, Poland, Austrailia, New Zealand…

In some ways the core of perception problems is centered on 911 terrorist attacks in 2001 in which the US government and Bush administration reacted by deciding that the country would make decisions in foreign affairs that respond only to US interests.

Well, yeah, I admit – we do&#160 have a problem with ragheaded Islamofucks flying planes into our buildings and killing our innocent civilians.&#160 Really kinda ruins a perfectly good day when that happens, y’know?

They were not going to consult very widely, and not to compromise in making those decisions. That caused rift even among the US allies. So it is natural to see that the image of America is the lowest in public opinion.

Well, just damn&#160 us all to Hell&#153 for not seeking Fwance and Germany’s permission to defend ourselves.&#160 How dare&#160 we kill those who are trying to kill us without asking “pretty please” first?!?!?!

Yong Tang: The Bush administration always claims that it is spreading freedom and democracy to all over the world. But there is widespread suspicion over the motives of What the Bush administration is doing. Some experts say democracy is just a beautiful pretext for America to seek its own interests. So personally I think there is a kind of hypocrisy here.

Oh, beautiful, Poon Tang, just beautiful.&#160 This from a Communist whose government pays lip service to human rights, just before running its citizens over in Tiananmen Square a few years back.

Hypocrisy much, dipshit?

Bennett: The Bush administration believes that there isn’t a contradiction between defending its self-interest and promoting friendly and democratic regimes. Because they believe that promoting those kinds of governments would make the world more friendly to the US and therefore it is in the interest of America to do that.

We do&#160 tend to prefer countries that aren’t actively plotting our destruction, I’ll give you that.

But if you look at the different parts of the world, it would be very difficult for the Bush administration to argue that they do not apply same standards to different parts of the world.

Gee, that’s funny, Phil baby.&#160 I don’t remember the Bush Administration trying to claim that in the first place.&#160 What are&#160 you smoking?

Clearly US is a great ally of Pakistan and Saudi Arbia, which are not democracies. US has a very complex relations with China, which is not a democracy either by American standard.

The issues that were once on the top of that relationship, like human rights, were no longer on the top any more. If you still remember last time when US President talked about human rights in China as a major issue between the two countries, that has been a long time ago.

Maybe it’s because there’s a Republican in office right now, and we understand that talking to the Communist Chinese about human rights is like trying to teach a pig to sing:&#160 It’s pretty damned useless – and it annoys the pig.

You were here in Washington DC During the Bush’s inaugural ceremony this year. During the speech Bush said quite forcefully that spreading freedom is the No. One issue for his second term. Then a day after that he backed off from that statement. He said that spreading freedom is just a long term goal, not an immediate goal of policy. So I think there is still realism that is applied to different relations.

Now that’s&#160 interestng.&#160 I don’t remember him “backing off” of that at all.&#160 Perhaps you could provide a transcript or recording where he said that, Bennett?&#160 Or are you just pulling things out of your ass like in the rest of this interview?

Yong Tang: In such sense, do you think America should be the leader of the world?

Bennett: No, I don’t think US should be the leader of the world…If we are heading into another period of imperialism where the US thinks itself as the leader of the area and its interest should prevail over all other interests of its neighbors and others, then I think the world will be in an unhappy period.

Because, as we all know, Bennett, your masters at the UN just wouldn’t stand for it.&#160 No, the elites&#160 of the world know far, far&#160 better how the world’s citizens should run their pathetic lives than, say, the citizens of the world themselves.

And they wonder why fewer & fewer people take their leftist asses seriously any more.

Go read the rest of the “interview”.&#160 Most enlightening.

  1. REACTING TO PHILIP BENNETT

The People’s Daily Online interview of Washington Post managing editor Philip Bennett, which I shined light on last week, is getting quite a bit of attention now thanks to a Drudge link. Here are some reactions from around the ‘sphere:…

  2. Elephant Man says:

The ChiComs are just annoyed because their plans to “assimilate” Taiwan have to be put on hold for awhile.

An attack/invasion on Taiwan just isn’t “feasable” as long “that yankee cowboy” is in office.

Also, they’re just upset that the nuclear and rocket technology spigot which was going full blast under the “Bubba” administration has been closed and the handle broken off.

Remember the chinese manned spaceshot that was akin to John Glenn’s Mercury flight? Haven’t seen anything since.

It’s a pretty good indicator about how much “space tech” clinton leaked to them.

Now that the spigot’s off, they’ll just have to do it the old fashioned way……

    Rotsa Ruck!

(The preceding cultural “insensitivity” was added merely to piss off PC “multicultural” moonbats)

    *guffaw*

  3. tweell says:

OT – Spats, you might want to update your link over in the Rott, since you are part of the Management there.

[Yeah, tell me about it.&#160 I’ve brought it up with Misha, and he says he need to get around to it, but he is a tad busy at the moment.

Perhaps if you made mention of it… (grin)&#160 -LSI]

  4. JBitchboy says:

Yeah, we sitzpinklers are a real, stinky, skanky bunch! I want Islamophiles to suck my hairy, ball-less liberal dick!

Islam is backward and violent – I am swishy and limp-wristed.

[This is gonna keep happening to you until you get the message, bee-yotch.

Suggest you take the hint and go away, eh, fuckhead?&#160 -LSI]

  5. Paul Dirac says:

Why does this turd keep referring to the United States as if it’s a foreign country?

  6. To him, Paul, it probably is. (sigh)
