Welcome to the Realm™ - Version 5.0...

A long time ago, I made a bet with a co-worker of mine concerning a former Cowboys quarterback by the name of Danny White.&#160 (For the Uninitiated&#153, Danny White was the guy who succeeded Roger Staubach as quarterback after Roger retired.)&#160 I made it with my bud after the infamous (to Cowboy fans, anyway) Tom Landry “No, no, Danny, no!!!” incident.

The bet was that Danny White would never win a Super Bowl as Cowboys quarterback.&#160 And, needless to say – I won the bet.

Concerning another Cowboys #11 at quarterback, you heard it here first:&#160 The Cowboys will never go anywhere with Drew Bledsoe as the starting quarterback.

Arlington Heights 7, at Birdville 14
UBuffalo 40, at Bowling Green 48 (OT)
at LSU 45, Arizona 3
at Oklahoma 37, Washington 20
at TCU 46, UC-Davis 13
Dallas 17, at Jacksonville 24

Birdville jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, then stopped Heights on downs in the final minute of the game.&#160 Duke Christian is now 0-2 at Heights for the first time in a while, and in any other world except high-school football, the calls for his head would already be starting. (shrug) Maybe if I adopt Prestonwood Christian Academy…

Turner Gill’s U of Buffalo Bulls took Bowling Green to overtime before losing on a strange 4th-and-1 play.

Quarterback Drew Kelly handed off to back Steven King, whereupon King fumbled.&#160 Kelly recovered and the play was blown dead – apparently the Dave Casper rule applies in college, as well.&#160 (Sorry rule for college, if you ask me.)

Arizona’s uniforms make them look like a high-school team.&#160 Against Bo Pelini’s LSU defense, they may as well have been.

The Wildcats managed only 54 total yards through the first three quarters.&#160 The backups managed nearly twice that (102) in the fourth, once things stopped mattering.

Had Bob Stoops known that Paul Thompson was going to have a second game like this last year, he might not have pulled him after the TCU game.

Thompson threw two touchdown passes to receiver Malcolm Kelly, and Adrian Peterson was Adrian Peterson, running for 165 yards and two scores as the Sooners put Washington away in the second half.

One might look at the final score of the TCU game Saturday night, and seen an efficient, workmanlike effort against an outmanned Cal-Davis team.

Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The game was pure slop.&#160 Two missed PATs.&#160 Thirteen penalties.&#160 At least two blown coverages leading to big Aggie plays.&#160 Gary Patterson’s got his work cut out for him if the Frogs are going to improve in time to handle Texas Tech next week.

And it’s not as if the Frogs had the only sloppiness in the game. A play under review by the officiating took – and I’m not making this up – at least five minutes to decide.&#160 This after the NCAA instituted new clock rules in order to speed up games.

This is a game the Cowboys flat-out should have won.&#160 This team had no business losing that game.

The Cowboys’ first play was a 12-yard slant to Widdle Terri Owens.&#160 It was the last time they threw that route to him all day long.&#160 They got a touchdown out of that drive, a field goal on the next…then 4 straight three-and-outs, then Bledsoe turned into Bledsoe and threw two interceptions which led directly to Jaguar short fields, then Jaguar touchdowns.

Owens caught a TD late, then Bledsoe threw yet another interception on the final drive to kill any Dallas hope.

The defense played well enough, but they were simply out there too long, thanks to Bledsoe’s offensive ineptness.&#160 And if this is the best we can do, we’re looking at another 6-10 year.&#160 Maybe.

This team has gotta&#160 see Romo if it’s even gonna get a sniff of the playoffs.

This week:&#160 3-3.&#160 Overall:&#160 7-4 (the Cowboy-ViQueen tie last week doesn’t count).

We’re back Friday for another go at it.

It helps, though, if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer  set about 1024x768 1280x1024 with your Favorites window activated on the left deactivated.  (At least until I can get a better handle on how WordPress works.)

(KORRIOTH:  Oh, great.  More wormholes.)

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice.
You can  use Nutscrape,  if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?

And don't even  get me started on Opera or Chrome.  I'm not about  to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
