Denizens, take a look at this Parade  magazine I found in this morning’s Dullest Moaning Snooze.
Note especially the date in the upper right corner – January 6, 2008.
What makes this all the more interesting is that the morons at Parade  didn’t even bother to post-edit the thing to note the December 27th assassination of Bhutto.
Not.  One.  Mention.
IOW, Denizens, anyone belonging to the Uninitiated™ would read this and think that Bhutto was still alive.
And then the Lame Stream Media™ wonders why their readership is going down.

Spats, welcome to the newspaper version of what TiVO/DVR folks know as “time shifting”. Doesn’t seem to make a damn bit of difference to them that they still ARE NOT reporting the news correctly or truthfully, just so they can get “on the bandwagon”.
As for the truth (when it comes to the Lapdog Drive-by Media), the only way it WILL get reported is if it is personally delivered by Der Klintonistas with Hitlary’s personal gold seal of spin. Although if Hitlary nosedives in New Hampshire, I for one will certainly be glad to see them all rapidly fade into untimely obscurity.
We distribute Parade with our Sunday paper and it comes in well before Sunday. They ship it by truck to all the papers that handle it. With shipping time and the fact it is a feature (as opposed to news) publication it may well have been printed and out the door before the assassination.
I like pointing out the idiocy of the Mainly Stupid (national) Media as much as the next guy but in this case since Parade isn’t really a news publication I think your reaction might be a little harsh. If you want to know what Brad and Jennifer and Tom and Billy Bob are up to Parade’s the place to go. For news you’d better look elsewhere.
Steve, I s’pose the counterpoint I could make is that Parade  management could’ve made a quick decision to spike the edition last week – maybe sent out an insert via FedEx or somesuch advising their readers of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the absence of one week’s edition.  Or the individual papers could’ve chosen to spike it, sent apologies and/or compensation to Parade, sucked it up and taken the hit.  I doubt any newsprint empires would’ve suffered as a result of one week’s failure to include Parade.
News magazine, tabloid or otherwise, I just find an error like that  inexcusable.  Heads should  roll over at Parade  – but you have a point, they likely won’t.
