Continuing the Demoscummic National Circle-Jerk Party Extravaganza Extraordinaire&#153 theme of Donktard Presidential Candidates Who Think They’re Way More Talented Than They Really Are&#153, we have here failed 1988 campaign laughingstock Michael “The Loser” Dukakis wailing & gnashing his teeth over his landslide defeat at the hands of Bush 41:

“If I had beaten the old man you’d of never heard of the kid and you wouldn’t be in this mess,” 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis told CBS News’ Katie Couric today.

This is from the failed presidential-campaign bit who was soundly defeated got his ass handed to him by close to eight percentage points, over seven million popular votes, a 4:1 state margin and 315 electoral votes, and the guy thinks he actually had a chance against Bush the Elder.&#160 After the tank incident and those metrosexual, half-assed comments about Kitty and any potential rapist thereof – he thought he actually had a chance.

Must…not…give…in…aw, t’Hell with it.

    Errr….ummmm….

Did The Dukakii forget that the “old man you’d of never heard of” was the sitting Vice President of the United States of America? Is The Dukakii really *THAT* stupid that he’d never noticed that his opponent was the sitting Vice President of the United States of America?!

    Oh.
    My.
    God.

His statement has to be one of the Ten Dumbest Things A Human Being Has Ever Uttered™. What makes it worse is that he uttered that statement to a ‘journalist’ (you know…someone who is actually paid to notice things like that), who didn’t immediately throw the flag for Flagrant Bullshit (15 yard penalty, and loss of down).

My head hurts from even trying to figure out how many different ways that exchange was idiotic.

  2. RobertHuntingdon says:

Not really, HDD. Yeah the statement was about as idiotic as they can come… then again, put 10 democrats in a room for six hours and they’ll probably find a way to come up with something to make me eat those words…

But the dumbo was claiming that if he’d managed to beat Bush the Elder that then Bush the YOUNGER would never have been a political force. Uh-uh. Well, W had lost his only previous election and had chosen to go back into business instead. But we have no idea who came up with the idea to run for governor first, himself or Jeb. If W was the one (which I highly doubt) then perhaps things would have been delayed, but Jeb going for the governorship could VERY easily have been enough to get the ball rolling. Even *IF* GHWB *had* lost to Dukakis, GWB could be running for president NOW instead of then.

So then we have to examine the idea of was it really possible for GHWB to lose to Mikey. I don’t really think so. Even if GHWB had made the moronic statements Mikey made and Mikey had been the one to promise no new taxes (yeah, so GHWB broke the promise, we didn’t know that THEN), I still don’t think Mikey would have won. Remember that the most popular president in living memory was just coming off two successful terms, terms that had turned our country around almost 180 degrees from the morass of despair into REAL hope and REAL change and life and energetic joy. Marilyn Manson could probably have ridden Reagan’s coattails to the presidency.

Worse yet it assumes that his (imaginary) presidency wouldn’t have been a failure that doomed the demoncraps for centuries. Remember that it was Bush who had the guts to stand firm on the policies Reagan enacted that led to the collapse of the Berlin Wall, that had the guts to get Desert Shield and then Desert Storm put together and didn’t go running to mommy (or the useless nitwits) instead. GWB did screw up in many ways, but can you imagine the absolute nightmare mess Mikey here would have made of those crisis’s? At least we’d have been spared BJ Clintoon, but yikes! what a mess this guy could have made of our country, right after Reagan finally got it back on track after 60 years of mismanagement by the commies. Worse it assumes that if Bush hadn’t been elected in 2000 everything would be sweetness and light and the unicorns would play with the kumbayya-singing kids in the meadows… riiiight. I think the only thing worse than being stuck in the 7th century is being too willfully blind to recognize that they ARE stuck in the 7th century and that refusal to strike back hard will only embolden them further. The Clintoon’s term alone should have been proof of that, but then that would require people with both brains and logic to exercise their faculties, and we’re talking about people with neither who can’t be bothered to try to use whatever they actually have…

Last, we get to who he said it to. Sure journalists are SUPPOSED to be smart enough to filter that crap out and recognize it for what it truly is (crap), but if they truly were would they actually be journalists? Few would be, because they wouldn’t be demoncraps anymore and couldn’t get hired by a network! 😉

Sorry HDD, but while it was incredibly retarded for him to say it, I’m not in the least bit surprised to see it slurped up by the Lamestream Mediots like that.

Hmm… that bit about Jeb and W didn’t come out quite right… We don’t know if Jeb was the first to decide to run for governor or not. They both ran first in ’94, W succeeding, Jeb failing by a rather small fraction. Had it been W’s idea to run for governor then nothing would have changed, as a successful 1+ term governor of a major state he would have been a reasonable choice in 2000 anyway. Had it been Jeb’s idea, then who knows what would have happened had their father managed to find a way to hand over an election that should have been (and was) a landslide in his favor to his opponent. Perhaps W wouldn’t have run at all. More likely he wouldn’t have run as soon, and we’d be debating about whether Bush could be worse than whatever candidate the dumbocraps have come up with this year or not.

Not that they wouldn’t still be in the hole politically. People are *finally* beginning to get it through their thick skulls just how communist these retards are, and just how awful communism truly is. Well, some people at least. The willfully blind still don’t want to know and won’t learn until they are forced to. Hopefully, for their sake and ours, by merely having images of people suffering under communism bashed through their skull, but it’s far more likely they won’t learn until they have to live through it.

    Robert,

I didn’t say I was surprised that the comment went unchallenged (I used to be a Libtard…thought that the Demonrats were too conservative to win elections), only that the idiocy of the comment was compounded by a ‘journalist’ not paying any attention to the fact that The Dukakii’s opponent was the sitting Vice President of the United States of America.

Only Libtards would have the fucking nerve to suggest that the general population at large was so ignorant of their government that the sitting Vice President of the United States of America was “some old man you’d never have heard of.”

Of course, the vast majority of Americans are government schooled (run by the Libtards…), so, they may have a point.

  5. RobertHuntingdon says:

You’re right, HDD, that would be moronic for him to think that people didn’t know who the “old man” was. But that’s not what he said.

“If I had beaten the old man you’d of never heard of the kid

That was my point. The rest was pointing out why you were right in spirit anyway, even if you blew it on the details.

  6. HDD says:

Ah. I now see the problem.

Due to absolutely atrocious editing (again, from someone who gets paid to notice those things), you and I placed the comma in the sentence at different points, changing the meaning of the sentence drastically.

My sentence: “If I had beaten the old man you’d of never heard of*,*the kid and you wouldn’t be in this mess”

Your (and probably the correct) sentence “If I had beaten the old man*,* you’d of never heard of the kid and you wouldn’t be in this mess”

In the original, there isn’t a comma in either place. Hence, we were inadvertently carrying on a conversation about two different things, but, with the same words.

Hard to believe a professional word writer made that egregious of a mistake, isn’t it?
