It’s Championship Week at the offices of the Perfect Football Weekend&#153, and two of the three teams playing this week are, in fact, playing for conference championships.

Today, Turner Gill’s UBuffalo Bulls travel to Detroit to take on the 12th-ranked Ball State Cardinals for the Mid-American Conference championship.&#160 I’m tempted to put the SpatulaLine&#153 back in, given that Ball State is&#160 undefeated & ranked, but I promised that once I lifted it, it was gone, so…

But I still don’t think Turner’s boys have much of a chance.

Saturday Night, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City will be the site where Sam Bradford and the fourth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners take on Chase Daniel and the 19th-ranked Missouri Tigers for the Big XII title.

Mizzou hasn’t beaten the Sooners in forever (or so it seems), but if Instant Karma&#153 is the bitch she advertises, a lot of Texas & TTech fans will be happy campers Sunday morning.&#160 I’m claiming Murphy’s Law on this and predicting a Tiger win.

Sunday, The Biggest Super Bowl XXX Rematch Ever In The History Of Ever, Ev-Effing-Er&#153 takes place in Pittsburgh as TRomo and the C’boys pay the Steelers a visit.&#160 DeMarcus Ware looks to be okay, but Marion Barber III’s toe is still a little a helluva lot iffy – and&#160 Steel has the number one defense in the NFL, so I have my doubts about this one.

In fact, this could be the first time in a long time I go oh-fer on a PFW.&#160 Which means I’ll go back to work Monday in a foul mood.&#160 Which’ll be most appropos.

Back Monday for the recap.&#160 In the meantime, Bucky plays no one this weekend.&#160 Bucky’s favored by two.&#160

Bucky plays no one this weekend. Bucky’s favored by two.

…and will need an INT returned for a TD to win in the last seconds of the game.

It is now, officially, impossible for you to go 0h-fer on the PFW.

Turner Gill’s Bulls of Buffalo won the MAC Championship.

  3. I know.&#160 I saw it.

Damn, I love it when I’m wrong like that.&#160

I’ll be honest, and tell you that I was hoping Ball State went undefeated, because I *LOVE* chaos in the ranks of college football. Undefeated teams getting the shaft by the BCS just warms the cockles of my heart. The BCS is a travesty, bordering on abomination, and I’m pretty sure the Bible says “and, lo! A playoff to determine a national championship in any sport is good in the eyes of the LORD, and it shall come to pass that those who use opinions polls to guess who is the best shall not find favor in His eyes”, but, it’s always hard to root against someone you actually know. Unless they’re a jerk. In which case, it’s easy.

It helps, though, if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer  set about 1024x768 1280x1024 with your Favorites window activated on the left deactivated.  (At least until I can get a better handle on how WordPress works.)

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice.
You can  use Nutscrape,  if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?

And don't even  get me started on Opera or Chrome.  I'm not about  to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
