Personally, I think that’s revolting, disgusting, and incredibly tacky.
The flag of the United States of America represents the United States of America, NOT the President of the United States of America. That happens to be MY flag y’all are playing games with, a flag, I will point out, that men have died to raise over territory that we were liberating at the time. Quite a few of those times, our soldiers were serving under presidents at least as socialist as President Obama is (Franklin Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson did things as president that were at least as damaging as what Obama is going to do, if not more damaging. They were both raging Socialists.). If you can’t fly my fucking flag properly, at least have the decency to not fly it at all.
The first time, it was a moment of anger. I understand that. The second (and third, and the continuous action up top) time is intentional. Do not profane the lives given to raise that flag by being as petty as the liberals.
(seriously. Men have died in combat to prevent that flag from touching the ground, from being lowered, and to raise it. What are you telling those of us who swore oaths to protect it?)
HDD, look up the facts, man. Unlike the libturds, we are supposed to have brains and use them. Flying the flag upside down is not a protest, or an insult to the nation, an insult to the president, or anything else that libturds like to pretend that it stands for. It is a signal of DISTRESS and extreme emergency. And we are indeed in distressing times and in emergency need of rescue as a nation… a real rescue, however, not some commie bull crap “bailout”.

We are facing no greater dangers today than we’ve faced at any other times in our history. President Obama will do no more damage to our economy than Governor Bush has already done. (It is traditional to refer to an ex-president by the title he held immediately preceding the presidency, NOT as ‘former president X’, as the media has continually been doing with Governor Clinton.) Nor will President Obama do any more damage to our nation than Congress has already done, and is poised to do.
In addition, if you’ll check the headline of this post, Darth didn’t really mean to imply that we’re in a state of danger, but, that we’ve ceased to exist as a nation. THAT happened long before most of us were born. (Four of most people’s list of the top five Presidents did more damage to this country than President Obama could ever dream of doing.)
Just like the nation didn’t end when Governor Bush was elected, it hasn’t ended now that President Obama has been elected. What will end this nation is this idiotic notion that almost all Americans, Republican or Democrat, have that what someone else does with their life if any fucking business of everyone else. Once we all stop using the power of the government to force others to conform to our whims, we’ll get our nation back.
“The dirty little secret about liberty is that, once you have it, you’re on your own.” Dunno.
I’m telling you – and everyone else – that our country is in a state of distress.
Yes, it’s self-inflicted – and yes, not everyone will agree that the country is in this particular state.  But in my not-all-that-humble opinion, it’s in that state, nevertheless.  And will be in that state (again IMNSHO) until B. HUSSEIN!!!  Obambi and his neo-Sharia excuse-for-a-government are removed from office.
Until then, the banner will stay as it is.
Traditional where?  I’ve never seen that in practice with any  former president, ever – not even with Bush 41, Reagan, Ford or Nixon.

General Washington wanted to stress that the presidency was a temporary position, not a lifetime or hereditary position. Upon leaving office, a president should be referred to by the (presumably government) position he held prior to taking office.
What? You expected ‘journalists’ to actually know these things? It’s not it’s their job, or anything.
As to the state of the Union, now that President Obama is now in office…the way to take control of your government back is to start voting the jackasses out of office. Schools and members of the legislature are both the same: everyone thinks they need to be changed…except for theirs. Don’t vote for Republicans anymore. Don’t vote for Democrats, ever. Find a third party you agree with, and vote for them. If you can’t find your third party on your ballot, have a backup. But, it’s about fucking time we stop voting for the same damn crooks, and expect different results.
I’d suggest a good rule of thumb would be “Always vote the incumbent out.”

HDD, I’m all in favor of going back to the traditions of the “elders” where appropriate, but Governor Washington sounds flat out WEIRD to me. Even Former President Carter gets that title from me, unwillingly at times, but he still gets it when I use his real name instead of a nickname. And the dead ones just plain “President”. President Washington was a VERY great man, but he wasn’t a deity. I think this is one area where he missed the mark.
As for voting the jackasses out of office, HDD, that’s not an option when ACORN and friends just steal the elections by any means necessary. And that’s why this nation truly IS in distress. It’s not the Ayatollah Obambi per se. It’s his supporters, the way he got “elected”, the way Coleman got “defeated”, and a few hundred other things along those lines. When one side is willing to commit blatant fraud then short of a 3-to-1 majority there is no electoral hope to evict the crooks. And while I hold out a very thin shred of hope that there might end up being such a majority somehow I don’t truly believe it. I hope to revise that in the next two years, but for now I can’t. And even then we have no control over the ones who most need to go, the entrenched Dukes and Earls like Pelosi and Durban and Reed who have constituencies who would vote them back into office after they were convicted of murder!
No, HDD, I am happy that you still have hope. But I’m a realist. There is only either the final slide into complete oblivion or open conflict awaiting us now. Probably both.

Minor correction: It’s GENERAL Washington, not Governor Washington. The presidency is the only political position he ever held. Remember, he was retired before the war started, and retired after the war, as well.
I’ve just talked to another friend of mine who was also unaware of the 220+ year tradition of referring to former presidents by their previous titles. But, let me assure you, officially, and on all official government documents, every former president titled by their previous (or current, if applicable) title. Look it up, if you don’t believe me.
As to how to ‘save’ this nation: I think y’all misunderstand me. I’m not suggesting any way that ‘we’ can take this country back. I do not believe, nor will I ever believe, in the efficacy of mass movements. That’s a concept out of Marxism, and I have a simple rule about Marxism: If Marx believed it, I don’t. Same as my Hitler Rule. What I AM saying, however, is what YOU, as an individual, and ONLY as an individual, can do. If YOU are willing to do it, then, you can’t ask anyone else to do it. Simple as that. Pay attention to YOUR behavior, and ONLY your behavior, and this problem will solve itself. Eventually.
As I stated before, this country’s problems will only be solved when WE stop sticking our fucking noses in other people’s business. Worry about what YOU can do, and leave everyone else to their own devices, and their own decisions. That’s what our Founding Fathers fought for. They didn’t fight for freedom. They fought for liberty.
