Rupert Murdoch, without even realizing it, has hit the nail on the head.

Media baron Rupert Murdoch issued an urgent internal communication late Monday, warning his staff: “We are in the midst of a phase of history in which nations will be redefined and their futures fundamentally altered.”

The dramatic call comes as markets continue their plunge and the future of media becomes increasingly muddled.

I hate to say it, but the guy has absolutely no idea how bang-on right he is.

Eh. It’s not as impressive as you think.

That statement would be true if it had been uttered at ANY time in the past 8,000 or so years of human existence. It’s roughly analogous to predicting the Sun will rise in the East in a couple of years.

Except Murdoch doesn’t realize how right he’s about to be.  That’s what’s so blog-worthy about it.

True, it’d be a lot more impressive had he mentioned 10 regions and 10 kings, etc – but I’m not expecting that much.

    Blind pigs & truffles, y’know.

It helps, though, if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer  set about 1024x768 1280x1024 with your Favorites window activated on the left deactivated.  (At least until I can get a better handle on how WordPress works.)

(KORRIOTH:  Oh, great.  More wormholes.)

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice.
You can  use Nutscrape,  if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?

And don't even  get me started on Opera or Chrome.  I'm not about  to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
