The Comment Of The Year&#153 (for now, anyway) goes to a fellow named Chris Baker, who was commenting on this LA Slimes&#160 blog entry about “whatever&#160 could have possibly&#160 happened to Our Savior&#153?&#160 Sob!!!”

Mr. Baker writes thusly:

Seriously – what happened to Obama?

Nothing. Nothing that any mature, level-headed American didn’t see coming. Maybe the difference is that a bunch of sappy, pollyanna Americans grew up.

He came in as an overhyped, unqualified, under-accomplished, junior-light-weight-do-nothing-senator who is now a junior-light-weight-do-nothing-president. He did nothing in Illinois as a senator except vote “present” – he changed nothing but his address. Chicago is still a corrupt, bankrupt cesspool. He is all veneer, hype, smoke and mirrors – all hat and no cattle.

Face it – he was carefully packaged, propped up, paraded like a peacock on the shoulders of political interest groups and rode a wave of political correctness that was out of control into the Whitehouse. His vision to “fundamentally” change America is dead wrong and his cast of far left zealots, thugs and tax cheats are now learning that. After all his empty campaign promises and rhetoric – where are the rainbows and unicorns? Where are the spontaneous outbursts of Kumbaya?

The country has never been more divided. Never have prospects for our children been so bleak. Bad enough he’s a joke at home but he’s totally dismissed overseas as well. This liberal disease has been eating away at America for too long – the benefit of Obama is that he put that into hyper-drive and now the country is no in the throes of a massive backlash and we needed it.

This is it – America will either eradicate this far-left disease and rise again or we will let it destroy us like the cancer that it is.

Bravo, Mr. Baker.&#160 Effing.&#160 Bra.&#160 Vo.&#160

There is only one thing that can be done to fix our nation. We must stop borrowing money immediately. We absolutely must begin to live within our means, no matter how much it hurts. Failure to do this means the end of our nation as a world power. Maybe not this year, but in the very near future. The people lack the will to do this, and Obama lacks the stones to tell us it needs to be done (as did both Bushes and Clinton).

This being the case, the future is reasonably clear. Our house of cards is going to come tumbling down. Perhaps the silver lining in the cloud that is the Obama presidency is that his actions will speed up the process of disintegration, allowing us to begin fixing things that much sooner.

  2. David, I’m not completely certain it will, or even can, be fixed.

Considering that End Times&#153 scriptures do not make any mention of any nation resembling the United States, it’s not out of the question that this is the catastrophe that takes us out of the equation, giving occasion to the rise of Antichrist.

It’s scary, in a way, to someone like me who’s looking forward to the coming Second Civil War&#153.&#160 What if, despite the overwhelming numbers on our side, we’ve already lost the skirmish before it’s even begun?

I may have overstated my thoughts. The one thing of which I am certain, is that our nation is headed for a fiscal disaster, and that the current crop of American citizens do not have the will to do that which is necessary to fix things. The only comforting thought is that the one nation in a position to take us down would lose more by taking us down than by stringing us along. Which may give us some time to put things together.

When our nation hits the brick wall of its “bread and circuses” spending habits, we will have the opportunity to resurrect the sort of nation we were back before the days of socialism, but it will only be a chance. We will have to work for success.

There is an equal, or greater chance that the next government of our nation will be a dictatorship worse than Josef Stalin. it all depends on the people, and how many are willing to lay it on the line.

Remember, at no time during the American Revolution did more than about a third of Americans support the patriot cause. Look at the nation that third brought into being.

It helps, though, if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer  set about 1024x768 1280x1024 with your Favorites window activated on the left deactivated.  (At least until I can get a better handle on how WordPress works.)

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice.
You can  use Nutscrape,  if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?

And don't even  get me started on Opera or Chrome.  I'm not about  to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
