And don't even get me started on Opera or Chrome. I'm not about to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
As nice a thought as this is, it has about as much of a chance of happening as Congress approving a PAY CUT for themselves to $1 a year. Although if it’s good enough for a CEO it damn sure is good enough for Congress.
What’s really needed is an amendment to the Constitution bringing about term limits for the US Congress. Something that is brought about by the States in order to return to them what was originally theirs. To the extent of ONE four-year term for BOTH House and Senate. And return the Senators to being elected by the State legislatures. And while you’re at it, reform campaign finance to ELIMINATE soft money donations. PERIOD. End of paragraph.
Radical, you bet. But if the US of A is to survive as a nation-state another 200+ years these are the kinds of things that will have to happen. That or else we can all watch Revelations start to unfold more and more sustinctly (although the Generalette and I will not be sticking around for that tribulation stuff, just an FYI).
