We take time out from my being on the disabled list to ask this quextion (a little Rush lingo, there):
As I write this (8:08 am, Central Daylight Time), it is 53 degrees in Seattle, WA.  The high there today will be 65 degrees.
The high today at Realm Headquarters™ is forecast to be 101.
The question:  WHAT THE EVER LOVIN’ HELL AM I DOING HERE?!?!?!
Groan.

Many thanks for Willis Haviland Carrier.

You  can talk.  You’re  in a flat on the first floor that rarely, if ever, sees the sunlight.
Let’s just say that I’m not.  🙂
I will say this, though:  I’m just ()thisclose to regretting having left my place in Irving.  At least it  had decent air conditioning…
So when does the duty excuse run out?
What duty excuse?  (puzzled look)
The one which allows you to be on the “disabled list”. 🙂
Not really a duty excuse.  There really is a pounding in the upper right quadrant of my head, and it’s been there for the last ten (10) days.
And that stuff the doc prescribed?  Hasn’t made a dent in it.
Gonna try one last thing before we panic over here.  If it works, I’ll tell y’all about it Thursday or Friday.  If not… (shrug)
Sounds similar to what my grandson suffers from. Please forgive me, I made light of something which is probably causing you more than a little misery.
Aw, Vicar, don’t worry ’bout it.  We’ve known each other way too long for me to get po’d at you over something like that.
Plan is to take it sorta-kinda easy until I can get my eyes checked Wednesday evening.  New prescrip definitely in my future – the hope is now that the quality of my eyesight hasn’t jumped completely off a cliff.
Well, you could always move closer to the Southern Command. Then again, even though the temps are a LITTLE cooler I’m not sure the humidity being a few dozen percentage points higher would be any help. New coke bottles or not.
Only a few dozen? (grin)
