Over the years I have learned to take such things as this with a very large grain of salt. These days, when one flies, one should expect to have to deal with the TSA, and one should not expect them to meet our definition of reasonable. This situation, however gets my attention with the following quote.
“By buying your ticket you gave up a lot of rights,”
That any government official would make such a comment is absolutely appalling. What makes it even worse, is that not only is it true, but the very government charged with protecting our rights, is the one which has cavalierly taken them away!

Mozilla Firefox doesn't do too badly, either; in fact, it's His Rudeness' browser of choice. -
You can use

if you so desire - but why in blazes would you want to use a browser from a company that had to hide behind Janet El Reño's skirt to be successful?
And don't even get me started on Opera or Chrome. I'm not about to trust any browser that won't let me change its color scheme.
One other thought. The TSA officer in this article, the one who was going to do the original “pat down” was simply doing his job. To threaten him with arrest was nothing short of stupid.
