Denizens, rare is the occasion when I come across a column that is so moronic as to be pretty much self-Fisking.
Such a column has come across my path this day.  And wouldn’t ya know it – it’s written by Bobby Herbert of the NY Slimes.
“We can no longer stand by and regularly give ourselves a pay increase while denying a minimum wage increase to the hardworking men and women across this nation.”
—Hillary Rodham Clinton, to her fellow senators
Oh, but you don’t give  yourselves raises, Hilarious, you moronic bimbo.  All you people do is simply refuse to vote on legislation shooting it down and boom – the raise automatically goes into effect with nary a one of you Congresscritters lifting so much as a “Come he-ah, Jeeves” finger.
And I do  seem to remember that that particular idea belonged…to the Demoscum.  Small world, eh Hilarious, you pathetic twit?
The federal minimum wage, currently $5.15 an hour, was last raised in 1997. Since then, its purchasing power has deteriorated by 20 percent. Analysts at the Economic Policy Institute and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities jointly crunched the numbers and determined that, after adjusting for inflation, the value of the minimum wage is at its lowest level since 1955.
For those who don’t remember, Dwight Eisenhower was president in 1955, the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn, and Barack Obama hadn’t even been born.
And the economy was going pretty good guns, if memory serves.  And  there just happened to be a Republican in the White House and a Republican Congress.
Hmmm. Nah, gotta be a co-inky-dink.  Doesn’t it, Herbie?
If you’re making the minimum wage, you’re hurting.
And if you’re thinking of making a career  out of it, you’re stupid.  Then again, that would  put you in the Demoscum’s (and Bobby Herbie’s) target demographic.
If Congress and the president don’t raise the minimum wage by Dec. 2, it will have remained unchanged for the longest stretch since it was established in 1938. (The longest period previously was from January 1981 to April 1990 – a span that saw the entire Reagan administration come and go.)
Which was, if I remember correctly, one of the last times that the US economy enjoyed such hellacious expansion – at the time, the largest in peacetime history (again, if memory serves).  And he had a Republican Senate, along with a Demoscummic House that had temporarily come under its masters’ (read:  We The People™) thumbs.
So much for it being a coincidence, eh, Herbie?
Senate Republicans recently blocked a Democratic bill, sponsored by Sen. Edward Kennedy
Reason enough to block it, right there.
that would have raised the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour over the next two years.
Which would force employers – particularly the working middle class employing these workers to come up with $84 per 40-hours per employee in order to keep doing business – or, if you want to take the long view, an extra $4,368 per employee per year.  Not to mention the extra costs in FICA taxes, Social Security taxes, any insurance hikes that the business might require…
And the Demoscum claim that they support  the working class?  If this is support, I’d hate for them to betray  me.
Jared Bernstein, a senior economist at the Economic Policy Institute, noted that while Republicans in Congress are standing like a stone wall against this modest increase in the poverty-level wage, “they are working as hard as they can to repeal the estate tax.”
“That,” he said, “is just vicious class warfare.”
No, Bernstein, you suckweaselly little pissant, it’s called “allowing the American taxpayer to keep more of his/her hard-earned money so they can give it to their progeny”.  Used to be quite the concept in America before you and your fellow socialist wonks decided that you could invent a “right” to take it from them.
The most important pay increases for most members of Congress are their own, and they are diligent in that regard. Mrs. Clinton, in a floor speech supporting the minimum-wage hike, said, “During the past nine years, we’ve raised our own pay by $31,600.”
No, again – you’ve allowed  your pay to go up.  Not the same thing – although I can (and will) be happy to excoriate the Republicans for following your lead and not lifting so much as a finger or wagging a tongue to stop it.
But then, that’s what happens to a Republican when he spends too long in Washington, DC:  He begins to act like a Demoscum.
Mrs. Clinton has introduced a bill that, in addition to raising the minimum wage to $7.25, would link congressional pay raises to hikes in the minimum wage. Under the bill, the minimum wage would be increased automatically by the same percentage as any increase in congressional pay.
Denizens, you’re not going to believe this – but I actually like  that bill.  Anything to get the Republican majority to get up off their asses and curtail any  spending, I’m very much on board with.
Good for you, Duchess Hilarious!  I mean – blind pig, meadow, acorn – but good for you, nonetheless.
Polls have shown that Americans overwhelmingly favor an increase in the minimum wage.
Would those be the same polls that had Kerry winning by a landslide two years ago?  Or perhaps the same Assphyxiated Piss-Ipsos polls we’ve seen a little more recently that are so heavily weighted in favor of leftist Demoscum?
Inquiring minds want to know!  Do you have the documentation to back these numbers up, Herbie?  Or are you pulling them out your stinky ass, like everything else?
But the low-income workers who would benefit from such an increase are not part of the natural GOP constituency. Thus, the stonewall.
Well, that’s why they vote Demoscum, y’know, Herbie.  It’s easier than going out and finding a real  job.
A separate study by the Economic Policy Institute found that in 2005, with the pay of top corporate executives up sharply, and with the minimum wage falling further and further behind inflation, “an average chief executive officer was paid 821 times as much as a minimum wage earner.”
That CEO, according to the study, “earns more before lunchtime on the very first day of work in the year than a minimum wage worker earns all year.”
Yeah.  So?  Would one of your so-called “minimum-wage workers” like to volunteer to take over the reins of a major corporation for a month or so?  That is, without  running said corporation into the ground and causing its stock price to tank?
Did it ever  occur to either you or your fuckheaded pollsters, Herbie, that there’s a reason  minimum-wage workers make minimum-wage?  Or that CEOs make CEO-type salaries, for that matter?  Would it help if we explained it to you, this time using one-syllable words so that maybe  you can comprehend?
The reality, said Mrs. Clinton, “is that a full-time job that pays the minimum wage just doesn’t provide enough money to support a family today.
The reality  Duchess, is that IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO, YOU IGNORANT SLUT!!!!!
We have to acknowledge that fact and do something about it. As a country, we cannot accept that a single mother with two children who works 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year earns $10,700 a year – let me say this again: $10,700 a year. That is almost $6,000 below the federal poverty line for a family of three.”
Oh no, you don’t, former First Bitch.  Not without acknowledging that the increase you’re proposing would put the MIDDLE-CLASS BUSINESS OWNER PAYING THAT SALARY at a higher risk of going out of business due to excessive costs – at which point, neither your so-called “single mother with two children who works 40 hours a week” nor  her boss (maybe a single dad  raising four  children???) have a job.
But that would make you happy, wouldn’t it, Hilarious, you stupid-assed bimbo?  As long as we spread the misery around equally, right?
During the 1950s and ’60s, the minimum wage was roughly 50 percent of the average wage of nonsupervisory workers. It has now fallen to 31 percent – less than a third – of that average.
As the Economic Policy Institute and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities pointed out in their study: “Each year that Congress fails to raise the wage floor, its purchasing power erodes. The fact that the minimum wage has remained the same for nearly nine years means that its real value has declined considerably over that period. As inflation has accelerated recently due to higher energy costs, the real value of the minimum wage has fallen faster.”
Which should  at least, for those precious few who still are driven to succeed (no thanks to you fucking leftards), motivate them to learn and grow and improve themselves to the point where they can get out  of that minimum-wage job, which was never supposed to be a career in the first place.
Except that’s where you’d like to see them, isn’t it, Herbie?  On that socialist plantation, liftin’ dat barge, totin’ dat bale…
There is no justification – none – for condemning the nation’s lowest-paid workers to this continuing slide into ever deeper economic distress. “No one who works for a living should have to live in poverty,” said Mr. Kennedy.
And there is no justification – none – for forcing the nation’s working class at gunpoint to pay its employees what you and your fellow Demoscummic shit-for-brains what you  think they deserve to make.
But if that’s what you really wanna do – well, then, you’d best bump the minimum wage up to somewhere in the neighborhood of $16/hour – because anything less ain’t much of a living wage, either.
Just don’t piss & moan about it when inflation soars to 40% annually, mkay?
It’s very telling that in the most prosperous nation in the world, that kind of comment actually sounds radical. We have a very long way to go.
Right.  Like convincing the NY Slimes  to bust your ugly ass back to minimum wage.
‘Cause that’s about what your writing’s worth nowadays.

Spats, while you were more or less factually correct, I believe that you tend to forget that the scum on the American left could care little what you think. Now don’t get me wrong, I applaud your posts, and I ecourage you to continue, but I think it important to realize that the left believes that they need not worry about the opinions of those of us on the right. This happens for two reasons. First, they actually believe(unbelievable as it may be) that most of the American People agree with them. Second, they believe that by using the Left wing “drive by” media, they can create the opinion they wish, and thus continue with the fiction that they are doing the will of the people.
Ah, but David – remember the Realm™’s Prime Directive – to piss off as many liberals as I can (and have fun while doing so).
If I can speak truth to morons, and laugh at them while doing so…why, that’s gravy. 🙂

David agrees:
So true, and you do a wonderful job! 🙂
gotta love my needle dick if i could find it
why do you always make me look like the pussy i am? I’m about the only one who hasn’t figured out that my balls are the size of pinheads.
[You said it – I didn’t. (chortle)  -LSI]
I expected you’d expose me for the pussy i am.
thanks for nothing, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
I see you haven’t changed since I worked with you in the 90’s….still a big, loud-mouthed, pansy.
Let’s have a name, chump.  Or is this just another piece of bullshit coming out of your skanky ass?
At least you’ve confirmed that I need not be concerned with you.  There weren’t too many people in the ’90s with whom I worked whose ass I couldn’t have kicked. (snicker)

Dave’s observation that:
Was answered by Spats with this:
Not surprisingly, mykii’s monkeys show that they do care what Spats thinks.
However, being part of “the scum of the American left”/liberals, we could expect nothing else.
*guffaw*
