The Islamic calendar starts at the time of Mohammed went to Mecca so it is year 1434 AH (Year of the Hajji) and nothing happened before.
Apparently, that year happens to have been the Chinese year of the Pig.

Sorry Darth, as funny as that is, 622 was actually the year of horse. You can figure it here. All is not lost however. It is my thought that the head of the horse may have been in China, but the other end was likely wherever Muhammid was, because the Quran certainly seems like what comes out of that end of a horse.
Okay, I’ll take your word for it – but, just out of curiosity, how did you arrive at 622?
AD 622 was the year that Muhammed went to Mecca.
